Captain Chuck Custer has extensive ocean experience in both charter fishing and commercial fishing. He started his fishing career as a deckhand with Gull Charters in Westport in 1977 at the age of 12, hooking him for life! He earned his masters license at age 21, and since has run charter boats in Washington and Alaska. Over the years, he has skippered the Malibu, King Pin, Playboy Too, and of course, the Freedom which he purchased in 1994 and has been running ever since. With over 30 years in the industry Chuck is still as passionate as ever about fishing!

In the off season, Chuck spends countless hours working on his boat, and always finds time to go hunting! Chuck's wife Jennifer will now be answering phones and booking all trips for the Freedom. His daughter Amy is a recent graduate of the University of Idaho and now works for the Spokane Indians Baseball Team. Chuck’s deckhands, Aaron Cornett and Justin Cowles make a great team and will help make your fishing trip unforgettable.
